Quarian Empty Quarian

Quarians are adept machinists, and skilled scavengers, due to the lifestyle they are forced to live. They love to talk and more so they love to debate. Because of this, quarian politics is a slow and tedious process. While they value being able to get out and "breathe" because of the incredibly cramped conditions they live in, many quickly become uncomfortable when there are few people around or when it's quiet (generally considered to be homesickness). The quarians used to practice a form of ancestor worship. This involved taking a personality imprint from the individual and developing it into an interface similar to a VI. The quarians began experimenting with making these imprints more and more sophisticated, hopefully leading to the wisdom of their ancestors being preserved in an imprint that could be truly intelligent. However, the geth destroyed the quarians' ancestor databanks when they rebelled. Some quarians saw their subsequent exile as punishment for their hubris, but most accept that the geth rebellion was a mistake, not a punishment. However, respect for their ancestors is still prevalent in quarian society. Admiral Shala'Raan vas Tonbay opens an Admiralty Board proceeding offering thanks to their ancestors, who saved them from the geth by founding the Migrant Fleet. Exile from the fleet is the greatest punishment any quarian can receive.
Quarian words that are commonly used are "Keelah", which is an exclamation, possibly with religious overtones. "Keelah se'lai" is an intonation, again possibly religious, is used like a benediction. "Bosh'tet" is a curse and insult, likely equivalent to 'son of a bitch' or 'bastard.'
Quarian names differ between adults and juveniles. Adults are Given'Family vas Shipname, where vas means 'crew of' and juveniles are Given'Family nar Shipname, where nar means 'child of.' Quarian names are generally one or two syllables and can be thought of as sounding somewhat slavic.
