Sniper Rifles
Sniper Rifles
Sniper Rifles are high powered, highly accurate rifles that use a magnification scope to assure proper targeting at long distances. They are highly specialized weapons, but in the hands of an expert are incredibly dangerous. Below are some examples, or you can use your own.
M-92 Mantis
The Mantis is a robust, single-fire weapon that hits incredibly hard. As sniper rifles go, it is fairly simple to use, maintain and modify. While slow, the weapon is reliable and hits hard enough that many targets will not be able to get up.
M-97 Viper
The Viper is another relatively simplistic design, forgoing the slow but powerful attacks of the Mantis for a faster rate of fire. Where the Mantis hits once, hard, the Viper hits three or four times to make up for the damage reduction.
M-29 Incisor
The Incisor is a mutation of the Viper's design, preferring multiple quick shots over one well calculated one, with the further difference of being designed to fire in three round bursts, the bursts so fast that the third shot has fired before the barrel bumps up from the first shot. The drawback to this is that it takes a little longer to reacquire the target than it would with the Viper, though it's less of an issue due to the fact that each good hit is actually three.
M-98 Widow
The Widow is an anti-materiel rifle, designed to pierce vehicular armor at distance. It is even slower than the Mantis, but makes up for this lack of speed with raw power. Like the Claymore it's sheer size and kick make it extremely difficult to use, but also like the Claymore, in the hands of an expert, it is an incredibly dangerous weapon.
