Shotguns

Shotguns are short range weapons that fire a group of slugs out in a cone formation, doing incredibly traumatic damage at close range, while suffering greatly at range. Here are some example shotguns, or you can create your own.

Cheap, simple and reliable, the Katana is a common workhorse shotgun found all over the galaxy. It fires semi-automatically at a decent rate, and makes a good utility shotgun.

The Scimitar Assault Shotgun is more oriented towards prolonged combat than the general purpose Katana. While a bit more complicated and slightly lacking in punch compared to the Katana, the Scimitar performs better at distance.

The Claymore is an incredibly powerful and incredibly heavy pump-action shotgun. It suffers greatly at range, but close up with the enemy this weapon is devastating, albeit slow. Swift firing is not recommended as the incredible recoil throws off accuracy and can injure the user.

The Eviscerator shotgun is comparable to the middle-ground Katana in most ways except for the weapon's complex inner workings. Much of the complexity is geared towards the way it forms it's slugs; making them jagged rather than uniform in shape. This means wounds inflicted by the Eviscerator are larger and more severe than normal.

The Geth Plasma Shotgun is an incredibly rare weapon whose inner workings make it extremely difficult to maintain and more so to modify it. However the weapon performs better at range than many other shotgun designs, firing less slugs in tighter grouping. This makes the room clearing aspect of the shotgun significantly less. The weapon can also, at risk of overheat, be charged for greater effect.
