Asari

Asari's thousand year life spans carry them through three stages; Maiden, Matron and Matriarch. Maidens are inquisitive and curious, and spend their first adult years exploring the galaxy and experiencing new things. When they feel the need to settle down and start a family, they begin their Matron stage, generally two to four centuries into their life. After another several centuries, they enter their Matriarch stage. Matriarchs are highly regarded in asari society, and their opinions are highly respected. The asari's ability to mate using any member of any species, as well as the behavior of a handful of wilder Maidens, the asari have an unfair reputation for promiscuity. There is also a stigma against asari mating with other asari; it is believed that it stagnates the gene pool. A derogatory term for children of asari-asari unions is 'pureblood.' Asari names are vowel heavy, sometimes leaning towards modern latin language sounds or modern high fantasy sounds. A common prefix for last names is T', much like Mc in human names.
