Biotic Abilities Empty Biotic Abilities

A biotic is a living being that is able to create and control mass effect fields of varying degrees and types. To utilize these abilities with any level of practicality, they require intense training as well as a neural implant surgically fixed into their brain. They also require a biotic amplifier (or amp), which is typically installed into the implant via some external port. Extensive use of biotic abilities is physically exhausting. It causes the body to metabolize much faster, so biotics need to eat more than most if they're regularly making use of their powers. Regular use of biotic abilities, like regular use of ANY mass effect generation, creates a buildup of static electricity, which needs to be discharged somewhat regularly, less it overload the amp, or worse, the implant. Any sapient organic being has SOME potential of becoming a biotic, though biotic abilities are generally very rare in any species, save the asari. As a possible in-play nuance, biotics in the games and comics seem to employ hand motions as mnemonic devices to help their brain differentiate different biotic abilities.
